Radiation Therapy Physicist

OptumCare is seeking a junior medical physicist to join our dynamic radiation oncology team in Las Vegas, Nevada.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional with expertise in therapy physics services to support our advanced treatment modalities covering multiple offices in Las Vegas. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full range of supporting the treatment planning and delivery process, machine QA, support of ACRO accreditation, participation in review and implementation of new technology, perform all clinical radiation therapy physics duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Direct involvement in planning external beam, brachytherapy, SBRT, SGRT, SRS, and other radiation therapy functions according to AAPM Medical Physics scope of practice.
• Maintaining Code of Ethics as defined by AAPM and adhering to OPTUM CancerCare Corporate Compliance policy.
• Performing calibrations and quality assurance measurements on all treatment and planning equipment according to established guidelines.
• Gathering, analyzing, and periodically reviewing data needed for planning and delivering patient treatments.
• Participating in developing calibration and quality assurance guidelines and schedules.
• Assisting in maintaining quality assurance, calibration, data acquisition equipment, and devices in good condition and current calibration.
• Supporting institutional radiation protection program and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies as requested by the Radiation Safety Officer.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in medical or radiological physics or physical sciences.
• Board eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in ARIA/Eclipse.

Nevada Residents Only: The estimated annual salary for this position in Las Vegas is $104,700 to $190,400. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance, incentive programs, equity stock purchase opportunities, and a 401(k) contribution plan.
