Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor to join our team at Accent Group And Family Services Ll. As a Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement treatment goals and objectives for each client, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Facilitate client support groups as needed and build partnerships with community organizations and school personnel.
  • Implement Behavior Modification Systems and complete required documentation, including tracking individualized behavior programs, daily point sheets, outcome tracks, discharge planning, progress notes, treatment plans, and quarterlies.
  • Maintain weekly contact with clients' primary caregivers, school personnel, and other relevant healthcare professionals, scheduling and attending meetings as required.
  • Attend school meetings, such as IEPs and child studies, upon approval of Clinical staff or Program Coordinator.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with Clinical staff and Program Coordinator for supervision and chart audits.
  • Establish working relationships with representatives of other agencies providing services to individuals.
  • Assist in the referral process for each client and provide transportation using company vehicles as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field and one year of successful work experience providing mental health services or special education to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Registered as QMHP-C or T with the VA Board of Counseling.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work on call as needed.
