Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the organization's buildings and properties, ensuring a safe and functional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts general repairs in plumbing, electrical systems, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Performs regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs; organizes work tasks and schedules accordingly.
  • Handles routine cleaning and maintenance tasks within the facility.
  • Manages the inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies to ensure availability.
  • Delivers materials and supplies to various programs as required.
  • Engages in additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in facility or property management.
  • Valid Florida Driver License.
  • Ability to pass background checks as required by Federal, State, and Local laws.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in EPA, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) are advantageous and may qualify for additional compensation.

Required Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Proficient in diagnosing issues and determining appropriate repairs.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of using hand tools and power tools effectively.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders and maneuver in confined spaces.
