Job Summary

Washington Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Test and monitor equipment for proper working condition to ensure optimal performance.
  • Log Management: Maintain accurate logs and x-ray badges for employees to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with Radiation Safety Officer: Meet with the Radiation Safety Officer to discuss and implement changes as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Professional Development: Complete a DOT course to receive training on Brachytherapy cases and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Procedure Support: Complete duties according to the requirements of each procedure needing radiological support, ensuring accurate and efficient execution.
  • Supply Management: Assemble necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures according to physician's preferences.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate c-arm and mini c-arm during procedures, ensuring safe and effective use.
  • X-ray Services: Take x-rays post-procedure as needed, adhering to established protocols.
  • Communication: Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction from physicians and other medical staff.
  • Radiation Safety: Confirm that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Procedure Execution: Apply prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions, adhering to established protocols.
  • Aseptic Technique: Follow principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed, ensuring optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved training program for Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certification: Certified by the State of California and registered by A.R.R.T.
  • Current Certification: Current AHA BLS Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASC Experience: Previous experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment.
  • C-Arm Experience: Experience with c-arm equipment.
  • EPIC Experience: Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in American English, with strong written, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills.
