Position Overview
The Hamilton Turner Inn, managed by Aileron Management, is seeking a dedicated part-time Breakfast Chef to deliver outstanding culinary experiences to our guests. This role involves working two days a week, focusing on breakfast service.
Key Responsibilities
A typical day for a Breakfast Chef includes:
- Setting up kitchen equipment and preparing food in alignment with business forecasts and catering agreements.
- Creating a variety of breakfast items, including salads, sandwiches, and hot entrees, while adhering to portion and quality standards.
- Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the breakfast menu and recipes, including preparation techniques, plating, garnishing, portion sizes, and special handling instructions.
- Ensuring the attractive presentation of all food and beverage offerings.
- Assisting in the ordering, receiving, and storage of food and beverage products.
- Collaborating with the Food & Beverage Manager and banquet staff during catering events.
- Setting up and stocking workstations with necessary supplies.
- Preparing ingredients for service, such as chopping vegetables and preparing sauces.
- Cooking menu items in coordination with the kitchen team.
- Maintaining cleanliness at the workstation and managing leftover food.
- Properly stocking inventory.
- Ensuring timely and high-quality food service.
- Complying with nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor with colleagues and guests.
- Prior cooking experience.
- Understanding of various cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety practices.
