Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Parking Lot Attendant to work on an as-needed basis for select events at the San Mateo County Event Center. As a Parking Lot Attendant, you will be responsible for flagging cars into the parking lot, directing customers to parking spaces, and maintaining a clean and safe parking environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Flag cars into the parking lot and direct customers to parking spaces.
  • Interact with patrons and guests using excellent customer service skills.
  • Maintain in good working order all inventory received, including radios, signage, flags, vests, flashlights, cones, delineators, bicycles, etc.
  • Set parking equipment in locations in the lot as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be friendly with a clean and neat appearance.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain composure and exercise sound judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good relations with guests and patrons.
  • Requires being punctual, responsible, reliable, and dependable to fulfill job obligations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to perform tasks without direct supervision.
  • Flexible schedule - ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to speak, hear, and see. Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
