Job Summary

The On-the-Job Trainer (OJT) Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and development programs to Production Team Members at Toyoda Gosei Texas. This role will focus on helping new employees get acclimated to the company, providing on-the-job training to set them up for job success, and coaching existing employees to improve their skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • New Hire Onboarding: Support the new hire onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor by being a resource, providing support, and helping new hires feel like part of the team.
  • Training Delivery: Deliver training to help employees develop skills to carry out their expected roles.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide coaching to existing employees that may require additional development to improve their performance.
  • Training Administration: Accurately record and document completion for employees in training, monitor and follow up on all expired trainings, and support training coordination efforts.
  • Communication: Provide accurate training status updates to TG University and Supervisors, and work with multiple leaders to efficiently and effectively communicate and escalate issues.
  • Team Dynamics: Foster a positive team dynamic that encourages employees to ask questions, provide feedback, and adapt to the ever-changing demands of their work.
  • Gap Identification: Identify and communicate any gaps and needs in the training programs.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist with other projects as needed in support of Manufacturing Operations, and maintain confidentiality regarding employee information.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of the company, manufacturing, and lean manufacturing concepts, including 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, etc.
  • Promoting Safety and Quality: Promotes safety, quality, and other pertinent policies.
  • Training Standards: Follows training standards and work instructions to deliver training.
  • Influencing Change: Influences change in professional and manufacturing environments.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management System.
  • Bilingualism: Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience

Two+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Communication and Technical Skills
  • Communication: Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management System.
Mathematical and Reasoning Skills
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Position Type and Expected Work Hours
