Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Perform structural design using knowledge of relevant software programs, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
  • Project Coordination: Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of projects under the direction of a senior engineer/designer.
  • Field Work: Perform field work or field inspections as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
  • Construction Management: Perform construction submittal and shop drawing reviews as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
  • Analysis and Design: Perform basic calculations to analyze and design structural system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Design Drawings: Prepare/develop basic design drawings and details using CADD software programs.
  • Engineering Support: Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
  • Data Collection: Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
  • Code Compliance: Assist in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Project Evaluation: Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Modeling: Construct models to identify project specifications and meet related needs by performing routine aspects of engineering assignments.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. A Master's degree in Structural Engineering would be considered an asset.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of related work experience or Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
  • Certifications: EIT designation or scheduled to take the exam within one year of degree completion.
Work Environment

This is a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
