Covenant Living is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for providing semi-skilled maintenance services to ensure the upkeep of our facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including appliance repair, light carpentry work, and routine motor vehicle maintenance.
- Inspect facilities, systems, and components to ensure safety and cleanliness, and identify necessary repairs.
- Operate a variety of hand tools and small power tools, and maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operating condition.
- Assist other maintenance staff as needed, and be available for on-call shifts.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License and good driving record.
- Basic skills in auto/small engine mechanics, carpentry, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, emergency generators, low voltage applications, swimming pools, fire alarms, valves, fixtures, alarms, and locks.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to work independently to complete assignments in required time.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written in English, with ability to interact with residents and staff in a pleasant manner.
