Fox Advancement is actively seeking skilled grant writers with expertise in both federal and non-federal funding opportunities. Candidates with a background in early childhood education or higher education, as well as experience with grants from the Department of Energy or Department of Labor, are particularly sought after.
Position Overview
As a Grant Consultant at Fox Advancement, you will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships and leading grant application processes. This position requires a high degree of independence and the ability to navigate complex client engagements. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of grant applications, ensuring alignment with strategic funding goals and compliance with deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely completion of grant applications in accordance with the client’s established grant calendar.
- Draft and refine persuasive grant proposals while coordinating all aspects of the application process. This includes setting up access to grant portals, extracting application queries into documents, creating detailed checklists and timelines, and gathering necessary attachments and research to enhance the application.
- Collect essential supporting documents, such as budgets, logic models, work plans, and letters of support, in collaboration with the client’s primary contact.
- Prepare all proposal materials for submission and provide guidance to clients throughout the submission process, including offering multiple drafts for review.
Foster a Grant-Focused Culture
- Provide insights on RFP requirements and set clear expectations with clients regarding project planning and scope prior to submission.
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients via virtual meetings or phone calls to discuss progress and next steps.
- Organize and lead discussions with program officers to ensure alignment with grant guidelines and facilitate site visits as necessary.
- Equip client staff with briefing materials and talking points for donor engagement.
Maintain a Comprehensive Grants Calendar
- Collaborate with the client’s leadership to manage a grants calendar that tracks funding opportunities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct thorough prospect research using industry-standard resources to identify potential funding sources.
- Compile findings into a prospect matrix that outlines key information about potential funders.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in grant writing.
- Proficiency in using Google Drive for document management and collaborative communication.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience facilitating virtual meetings.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
- Experience in remote work environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Timely communication and responsiveness.
- Preferred: Membership in GPC and/or GPA.
