Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Excavation Operator to join our team. As an Excavation Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations.
- Excavate soil and other material from job sites into trucks for transportation to appropriate locations.
- Grade and compact land surfaces using heavy, motorized construction equipment.
- Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience (Operator 1), 5+ years (Operator 2), or 2+ years (Operator 3).
- Valid Driver's License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.
- Preferred safety training: 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of operational characteristics of heavy, power-driven equipment.
- Maintenance requirements of heavy, power-driven equipment.
- Methods and materials used in general construction and maintenance work.
- Principles and techniques of field maintenance activities.
- Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in heavy equipment operation.
The Excavation Operator will work in a job site environment, including machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, fumes, noise, and other hazards. The position requires the ability to work in inclement weather conditions and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties.
