Space Acquisition Expert with Government Contracting Experience

The Horizon 2 contract, which we are supporting, is a major capability acquisition system process that aims to provide advisory and assistance services to program offices acquiring space systems. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts who have a background in the Department of Defense acquisition process.
Our team is at the forefront of novel and burgeoning technology, helping the government navigate system requirements throughout the full lifecycle development of a system acquisition. Your role will be crucial in providing expert advice to the Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and execution.
You will assist in providing contracting assistance to technical personnel involved in the development of statement of work or data deliverable requirements for various pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions. Additionally, you will assist with contract negotiation, price reasonableness determination, administration, and termination procedures.
As a Space Acquisition Expert, your duties will include assisting the contracting office in preparing contract modifications and supporting documentation for actions such as funding, award fee, period of performance extensions, and administrative modifications. You will also develop and coordinate overarching program planning and execution documents as prescribed by relevant DoD, AF, and Space Systems Command policies.
You will have the opportunity to draft technical evaluations and serve as an advisor in source selections. Your responsibilities will also include providing technical and programmatic assessments of contractor designs and milestone reviews to assess progress, risks, and issues, and the ability to achieve mission requirements.
Monitor and evaluate contractor performance for compliance with contract terms and conditions, ensuring timely submission of contract deliverables. We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 15 years of related experience in contracting regulations, procurement procedures, and the Department of Defense Major Capability Acquisition System process.
You must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable). Additionally, you must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and consent to a Polygraph examination.
We are seeking a candidate with a professional certification (e.g., PMI PMP) and experience within the National Security Space domain. Your experience working in development environments and/or U.S. Government weapons system program offices will be highly valued. The estimated salary range for this position is $160,001 - $200,000. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
