The Johns Hopkins Health System is proud to offer a post-primary program in MRI for technologists who are interested in advancing their career in the field of medical imaging.

Program Highlights
  • Learn to perform diagnostic MRI of organs, organ systems, and blood flow studies in provided classroom and clinical settings.
  • Training includes MRI Anatomy, Protocols and Procedures, MRI Physics, MRI Safety, and IV Certification.
  • Clinical experiences offer interactions with a variety of patient populations, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Critical Care, Trauma, Pediatrics, and Oncology.
  • Upon graduation, a two-year work requirement at any Johns Hopkins location is required.

Requirements
  • Completion of an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
  • ARRT certified with current registration
  • CPR certification within three months of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong desire and willingness to learn with ability to apply learned skills in the clinical environment
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply self-initiative and direction
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, technologists, instructors, and other personnel
  • Effective interpersonal skills for instructing and orienting patients, physics, and medical staff
  • High level of analytical skills with attention to detail is required to perform appropriate scan based on the patient's history and protocol
