About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/Materials Engineer to join our team in Andover, MA. As a key member of our Materials and Process Engineering Department, you will be responsible for conducting mechanical testing, assessing materials, and collaborating with design and material engineers to support development, design, and failure analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess materials based on conformance to specifications and design requirements
  • Conduct hands-on testing of materials using laboratory techniques
  • Develop and fabricate unique test plans and test setups
  • Review material documentation and assessment of specifications
  • Engage with subject matter experts to understand material usage and collaborate with suppliers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in using laboratory equipment, such as Instron load frames, hardness testers, or microscopes
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot analytical instrument problems and interpret data
  • In-depth understanding of Instrumental Analysis and laboratory techniques
  • Understanding of material safety datasheets, military specifications, and ASTM test methods
  • Ability to write concise technical reports summarizing analyses
