Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Manager to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our Transportation Operations Center (TOC), you will be responsible for ensuring the operational availability of all TOC systems and associated network and server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement recommendations to support organizational goals.
  • Oversee and coordinate the planning, installation, delivery, operation, and maintenance of mission-critical Operations Technology computing systems and communications infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all systems adhere to COV Information Technology Resources Management (ITRM) Security Policies, Standards, and guidelines.
  • Implement safety standards and procedures for users related to equipment operation and work tasks.
  • Lead, manage, and facilitate technical work groups.
  • Use computers and software applications to support system operations.
  • Have knowledge of 24 X 7 systems operations and maintenance and systems and communications technologies related to transportation systems.
  • Be available to respond to emergencies as needed.
Requirements
  • A combination of training, experience, or education in Information Technology, Transportation Technology, or a related field is desired.
  • Experience in managing or supervising electronic and information technology systems is required.
  • Experience with traffic management systems is preferred.
  • An experienced leader with transportation experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of basic facilities maintenance and inventory practices is desired.
  • Experience managing large-scale technology-focused programs or projects is preferred.
