Job Title: Load Planner

Penske Logistics is seeking a highly skilled Load Planner to join our team. As a Load Planner, you will play a critical role in coordinating all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dispatch drivers and plan operations to ensure timely and efficient freight movement.
  • Process customer orders and plan shipments into loads, tender freight to third-party carriers, and update the Transportation Management System with current shipment information.
  • Provide detailed instructions to customers and associates via phone and email, and track and audit operational issues or functions.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities for customers and coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Investigate and report load exceptions, and weigh alternative financial decisions before taking action.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Two plus years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time-sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers and Penske associates.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and work First, Second, and Third Shift as needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
