About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Threat Intelligence Analysis Expert to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will have a strong background in malware analysis and a proven track record of identifying and mitigating complex threats.

The ideal candidate will have experience with various tools and techniques, including static and dynamic analysis, debugging, and disassembly. They will also be proficient in developing custom scripts and tools to automate and streamline the reverse engineering process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of malware samples, including reverse engineering and understanding their functionality.
  • Develop and implement countermeasures, such as IDS rules, Zeek scripts, Yara rules, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with our TDR team to identify and understand the techniques used by advanced threat actors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest malware threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
