We are seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Campus Service Worker. This is a full-time, on-campus position at West Virginia Northern Community College, responsible for performing a variety of manual labor activities, including janitorial, maintenance, groundskeeping, and event setup.
Key Responsibilities- Custodial Services: Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, and restrooms, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, vacuuming, and waxing floors, emptying trash cans, and disposing of trash.
- General Maintenance: Complete routine maintenance tasks, including repairs to electrical systems, emergency lighting batteries, floor tiles, painting, and minor plumbing, as well as maintaining equipment for lawn and snow removal.
- Serving Needs of Constituents: Prepare and set up classrooms for various events, move equipment as needed, lock and unlock buildings, offices, and classrooms, and assist staff and students with immediate needs.
- Groundskeeping: Prune bushes, mow grass, and maintain planting beds, shovel snow, scrape ice/slush and mud, and spread salt as needed to ensure hazard-free entrances in inclement weather.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in custodial or directly related work, production work, grounds maintenance, or commercial building cleaning procedures and floor care.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate cleaning equipment, basic plumbing skills, detail-oriented, learns tasks/duties quickly, self-starter, and ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
