Job Title: Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide care in a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family medicine and experience working in a correctional environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive care to well and ill incarcerated adult and adolescent populations
  • Manage the direct and indirect care of incarcerated individuals in collaboration with all disciplines employed or practicing at the institutional Health Services Unit
  • Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of care and education programs and protocols used by the health care staff to meet the needs of incarcerated individuals who exhibit health problems across the continuum from prevention to complex medical and/or psychiatric conditions
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and provide emergency first aid as needed
Requirements:
  • Active Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner License or Compact State Nursing License
  • Minimum 1 year prior nursing experience
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Corrections nursing experience is a plus
