Position Overview
As a Financial Advisor for Healthcare Services, you will play a crucial role in guiding patients and healthcare providers through the financial aspects of care. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing patients and healthcare professionals with accurate private pay estimates.
  • Assisting patients in completing financial applications and arrangements, while offering financial counseling through various resources, including financial assistance programs.
  • Processing financial assistance applications in accordance with established policy guidelines.
  • Clearly communicating the terms of the Financial Policy to ensure patients fully understand their payment obligations.
  • Collecting and processing estimated liabilities from patients.
  • Supporting patients in the application process for state Medicaid programs.
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient and facility confidentiality.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work effectively under pressure while remaining courteous and helpful.
  • Addressing billing-related inquiries and concerns from patients.
  • Managing bankruptcy notifications and informing third-party vendors of affected accounts.
  • Overseeing monthly billing accounts for schools and clients.
  • Submitting and updating reports to third-party vendors as necessary.
  • Staying informed about hospital policies related to billing operations.
  • Participating in training sessions, seminars, and educational meetings as required.
  • Engaging in informal training of new employees and colleagues.
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial or banking role is preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare billing is advantageous.
