Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Beverage Retail Associate is responsible for providing exceptional service to customers while assisting them in selecting and purchasing products. This role involves operating a computerized cash register to process transactions, handling cash accurately, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with customers, providing information on products, pricing, and payment options.
  • Efficiently process customer transactions using the cash register, ensuring accurate cash handling and change distribution.
  • Complete necessary end-of-shift paperwork, including cash register reconciliation.
  • Receive and price new inventory, ensuring shelves and displays are well-stocked and organized.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and in-person.
  • Maintain knowledge of product varieties, sizes, and sourcing information for alcoholic beverages.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer experience and sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in determining restocking needs.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, including regular sweeping and dusting of products.
  • Maintain a valid TABC Certificate.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Adhere to state regulations and company policies regarding the sale of age-restricted products.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Report any incidents of theft, shoplifting, or property damage to management.
  • Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a valid TABC certification upon hiring.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional sitting, talking, climbing, and smelling.
  • Frequent walking, carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs., lifting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Continuous standing, reaching, seeing, and hearing.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Occasional exposure to loud noises, slippery surfaces, and sharp objects.
  • Frequent twisting of the back and neck, and operation of hazardous equipment.
