Compensation range: $50,000 - $65,000. This role will require a hybrid work arrangement.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in advancing the department's goals by applying relevant accounting principles to various transactions, reconciling and analyzing accounts, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the business unit effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and precise processing of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all transactions and journal entries.
  • Engage in monthly general ledger closing and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts at the end of each month.
  • Contribute to the annual physical inventory or cycle counting process.
  • Assist with the annual audit conducted by external public accounting firms.
  • Calculate and file sales and use taxes.
  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in minimizing waste.
  • Undertake special projects as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions).
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience (internships included).
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
