The Breast Sonographer plays a vital role in assisting physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position requires preparing patients for procedures and operating ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Prepare patients for procedures
  • Operate ultrasound equipment
  • Obtain diagnostic scans

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred
  • Graduate of CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required
  • One year of breast sonography experience, preferred
  • Certified and registered by ARDMS in Breast Sonography – RDMS,BR, required
  • Applicable state license, required

Additional Skills:

  • Analytical ability
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient
  • Ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs
