Float Pool Responsibilities:
The Float Pool consists of a team of highly trained RNs who adapt to different departments, including critical care, surgical, and emergency units. The Critical Care Nurse will:
- Conduct thorough health assessments by analyzing various data points to create comprehensive care plans.
- Develop tailored care strategies based on patient evaluations and emerging trends.
- Support patients and their families throughout the healthcare journey, from wellness initiatives to end-of-life considerations.
- Advocate for patient rights and provide guidance to resolve any concerns.
- Recognize and address the ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients to optimize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with standards.
- Evaluate documentation outcomes and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
- Assist in assessing educational needs and measuring the effectiveness of patient education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and demonstrate respect for various clinical disciplines.
- Stay informed about unit initiatives and integrate team outcomes into practice.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for fellow healthcare professionals.
- Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development opportunities.
- Complete a minimum of six formal contact hours for continuing education.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience in critical care or emergency settings.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or an Associate's Degree with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of hire.
