Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst will oversee the financial operations of Armed Services YMCA's Military Family Services division. This position entails managing fiscal assistance programs for federal contracts, working under the guidance of the VP of Finance and the SVP of Military Family Services, which involves a dual reporting framework.
The responsibilities include supervising daily financial tasks such as billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and cash flow management. The Senior Financial Analyst will also play a key role in enhancing, auditing, and refining existing financial processes to support the Military Family Services division.
We are looking for a meticulous professional with strong analytical skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to see the broader financial picture. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to improving operational efficiency are essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee financial management for ASYMCA's government contracts related to fitness memberships for military personnel and their families, including accounts payable and receivable, invoice management, payment verification, reconciliation, cash flow oversight, and financial reporting.
- Manage financial operations for Operation Ride Home holiday travel assistance, including fund allocation, expense monitoring, payment verification, budgeting, and reconciliation.
- Handle financial oversight for grant distribution programs, including budgeting, financial reporting, and documentation of payments.
- Administer financial processes for the organization's membership system, including reporting, cash management, credit card transactions, and budgeting.
- Conduct monthly financial analysis and bank reconciliations, generate financial statements, manage budgets, and prepare reports specific to departments.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, GAAP standards, and reporting guidelines, while meeting internal deadlines and assisting with audits and annual requests.
- Maintain data integrity, internal controls, and accuracy within financial systems.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, along with 5+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting (AP, AR), or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Experience with YMCA, non-profit organizations, or federal contracts is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a solid technical foundation and the ability to adapt to new software systems.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct and/or Truist systems is advantageous.
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills is encouraged to apply.
