Work Environment: Field-based role primarily located in Yuba City, CA, with occasional travel required.

Position Summary:

The Fiber Optic Splicing Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, construction, and maintenance of fiber optic cables in various environments. Key responsibilities include:

• Terminating fiber optic cables to enhance or replace existing telecommunications networks while adhering to industry standards.
• Diagnosing and resolving cable faults to maintain network integrity without disrupting service.
• Conducting troubleshooting and maintenance to address signal issues effectively.
• Operating vehicles and equipment safely, including bucket trucks and trailers, while accessing various installation sites.

This role requires effective communication and collaboration with team members and external service representatives, fostering a productive work environment. The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic setting, capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• Must be eligible for employment in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid California driver's license is mandatory.
• Experience with fiber optic splicing and cable installation is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites and work flexible hours as needed.
• Proficiency in English is required; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on fiber optic lines, including testing and troubleshooting.
• Interpret technical diagrams and specifications related to fiber splicing.
• Conduct outside plant fiber optic cable splicing and installation tasks.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean work environment.
• Document project progress and maintain accurate records.
