Job Summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for assessing patients and performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety protocols.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as you will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards are met
  • Perform quality control procedures and notify/remediate as necessary
  • Assist with departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance

Requirements:

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible with temporary state license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
