Job Summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will be responsible for performing various technical procedures requiring independent judgment in the use of radioactive materials in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and conditions in patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient medical history to understand their illness and pending diagnostic or treatment procedure
  • Instruct patients before, during, and following procedures
  • Evaluate patient preparation before beginning a procedure
  • Recognize emergency patient conditions and initiate lifesaving first aid when necessary
Requirements
  • Completion of a formal approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with a minimum of an Associate degree
  • Registered ARRT (N), NMTCB, or CAMRT certification
  • Current BLS certification - Basic life support
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
  • Completion of required continuing education hours to maintain certification
  • Meets scope of practice and performance standards as identified by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging
