NICU Nursing Opportunities
- Our Women's and Children's units are dynamic environments that cater to high-acuity patients. We encourage nurses to expand their knowledge and skills in a supportive atmosphere that promotes learning and mentorship.
Patient Population: 22 weeks GA - Term
Patient Ratios: 1:1-4
Number of Beds: 83, including a specialized unit for the tiniest patients, with an average daily census of 50.
Unit Highlights: State Designated Level IV NICU Care, over 600 annual NICU admissions, 24/7 in-house coverage by Neonatologists and NNPs, opportunities for professional development, and support for specialty certification.
Position Overview
As a Seasonal RN, you will align with our nursing model, managing patient care and developing comprehensive care plans. Your expertise will play a crucial role in guiding patients through the healthcare system and ensuring optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and identify patient and family needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans, making adjustments as necessary.
- Create safe and therapeutic environments for patients and their families.
- Manage both emotional and physical pain to facilitate recovery.
Seasonal Commitment Details
Full-time Seasonal positions require three 12-hour shifts per week for a 13-week contract (excluding orientation).
Completion bonus of $1,500 for meeting minimum productivity standards.
Seasonal rate of $51 per hour, with additional shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends.
Weekend requirements align with standard full-time expectations, including rotating weekends.
The first week will be dedicated to orientation.
Although this is a temporary assignment, you will be a Baylor employee, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role upon completion.
Qualifications for Seasonal Registered Nurse
- Minimum of two years of RN experience in a NICU setting, at Level III or higher.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Required certifications: RN, BLS, and NRP (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
