Job Overview

As the Director of Laboratory and Pathology, you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive planning, budgeting, management, and performance of the Laboratory and Pathology Department at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Your leadership will ensure that all laboratory and point-of-care operations meet the stringent requirements set forth by regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the daily operations of the laboratory in collaboration with the Medical Director, ensuring both operational efficiency and professional excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including CAP, CLIA, TJC, and FDA regulations.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to engage in strategic planning and achieve departmental goals.
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the laboratory and pathology services.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a laboratory setting.
- Valid Florida license and/or certification (MT-ASCP) with active membership in a professional association.
- Strong knowledge and clinical competence in laboratory diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to address the unique age-specific needs of patients effectively.
- Proven track record of initiative, self-direction, and innovative problem-solving skills.
