Job Description

A day in the life of a Sales Associate at Tacoma Screw Products involves assisting customers with the selection, application, and purchase of a wide variety of fasteners, industrial hardware, tools, and maintenance and shop supplies.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer inquiries, including product knowledge, special product requests, and product pricing.
  • Write and follow up on customer special orders.
  • Identify customer products, including clarifying requirements and specs.
  • Locate and retrieve product in the Stockroom.
  • Finalize transactions and assist in the shipment of product if needed.
  • Develop and maintain favorable relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness of the store and the product presentation standards.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of Retail Experience; preferred in an industrial setting.
  • Solid math, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must be well organized and self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move quickly to pull orders and wait on customers.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of this job.
  • Must be able to unload freight and stock shelves.
  • Ability to use hands to keyboard for customer orders and to look up inventory.
  • Must be able to answer the telephone and take customer orders.
