Position Overview:

The Corrosion Control Specialist will leverage their expertise in corrosion management to execute repairs, installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks on various equipment and systems within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and oversee the design, installation, operation, inspection, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems across assigned pipeline segments, compressor stations, or plant facilities, ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulatory standards.Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and perform necessary tasks while completing all required documentation (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).Analyze and investigate corrosive conditions affecting existing and proposed facilities.Ensure corrosion control and compliance for cathodically protected pipelines, compressor stations, and other facilities.Conduct regular pipe-to-soil potential surveys, casing-to-soil readings, and other necessary evaluations, documenting findings in the corrosion database.Assess the condition of protective coatings and perform repairs as necessary, including evaluating pipe anomalies and conducting remaining strength calculations.Possess knowledge of internal corrosion mechanisms and mitigation strategies, including sample collection and chemical analysis.Design cathodic protection systems, including current requirement calculations and soil resistivity assessments.Generate and maintain comprehensive reports on rectifiers, bonds, pipeline isolation, and annual corrosion control activities.Install, maintain, and repair rectifiers, anode systems, cables, and test stations, while performing ground bed efficiency calculations.Evaluate stray current effects from external sources and implement necessary mitigation actions.Interpret pipeline maps and related documentation accurately.Utilize appropriate safety equipment when working in potentially hazardous environments.Demonstrate workmanship that aligns with industry standards and partnership practices.Ensure that facilities and work areas are kept safe and orderly.Collaborate with other technicians for effective repairs when necessary.Train and evaluate the skills of other technicians as part of the partnership's qualification program.Engage in regulatory audits and safety initiatives actively.Inspect welds and surfaces during corrosion-related activities.Adhere to safety policies and procedures diligently.Execute energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures as required.Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the reporting location. Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience Levels:

Level C: 0 – 2 years of relevant experience.Level B: 2 – 4 years of relevant experience.Level A: 4+ years of relevant experience. Qualifications: Valid driver's license in the state of residency.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Ability to train and assess other technicians. Preferred Qualifications: Associate of Applied Science in Corrosion Technology.NACE Corrosion Technician or Corrosion Technologist Certification.NACE CP Level II certification.Qualifications from welding school for weld inspection.
