With a dedicated team of over 6,500 professionals, we deliver more than 1 billion gallons of propane from over 1,800 distribution points nationwide.
Job Summary:
The Cylinder Processing Technician plays a vital role in the outdoor production area of the AmeriGas Cylinder Exchange facility. This position involves the handling and processing of propane cylinders, specifically the 20 lb. barbeque grill cylinders.
Key Attributes:
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety through daily actions and adherence to company safety protocols.
- Upholds high professional and personal standards, emphasizing quality, punctuality, and continuous improvement.
- Works effectively as part of a production team.
Responsibilities:
- Sort, inspect, clean, paint, label, and refill empty cylinders.
- Maintain a safety-first mindset and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure the quality of processed cylinders meets company standards.
- Load filled cylinders onto trucks for subsequent shipments.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
- Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly as required.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and instructions.
- Function effectively as a team member in a production environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
- Basic mechanical skills and computer knowledge.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours daily.
- Must be able to obtain necessary state licensing and forklift certification.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Working Conditions:
The job may involve exposure to various environmental conditions such as wind, rain, ice, and snow, as the production area is primarily outdoors.
