Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Clover Park School District is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our health services team, you will provide high-quality patient care to students, ensuring their health and well-being.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the building principal and lead direction from the Health Services Manager, you will provide health-related services for students. This includes accompanying technology-dependent students to and from school, performing standard physical health care procedures, and providing health and nutrition education to children and parents.

Essential Functions
  • Accompany technology-dependent students to and from school, using skilled nursing judgment.
  • Perform standard physical health care procedures, including testing and recording vision, weight, hearing, scoliosis, and immunization status.
  • Provide health and nutrition education to children and parents in coordination with other staff.
  • Assist with the identification, prevention, and control of communicable diseases, observing universal precautions at all times.
  • Assemble, organize, and maintain student health records, files, and supplies.
  • Coordinate District and community services for students with paraeducators, volunteers, school nurse, and building administrator.
  • Administer first aid, CPT, and emergency care to students who are sick or injured, notifying school nurse, administrator, and parents as required.
  • Administer prescription and non-prescription medicine as prescribed by healthcare professional or parents, maintaining daily log.
  • Attend training related to students' medical treatment needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse.
  • Knowledge of the principles of nursing and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of aseptic/sterile techniques and infectious disease control.
  • Knowledge of care and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR.
  • Ability to communicate in person, writing, or on the phone, with students, staff, parents, and volunteers, in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adjust to varied situations, demands, and new health issues.
  • Ability to learn and integrate policies and procedures adopted by the school building, the District, and the State of Washington.
  • Ability to be entrusted with confidential and sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This is a non-exempt position with a work year of 196 days. Shifts are subject to change. Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check.
