Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Effectively manage the cash register and monitor the gas console, adhering to all cash handling protocols for cash, credit transactions, checks, and lottery sales. Ensure precise accounting for all sales activities and maintain accurate inventory through correct pricing.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, ensuring that all areas, including the parking lot, restrooms, stockroom, and equipment, meet high cleanliness standards. Promptly address any spills or hazards to ensure safety.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, offering suggestions, and expressing gratitude, all while fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits. Assist customers in finding products within the store.
  • Participate in promotional activities by building displays that highlight sale items and enhance customer awareness, thereby driving additional sales.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned or requested by management.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mathematical skills for counting, adding, subtracting, and recording figures accurately.
  • Proficiency in operating retail machinery, including cash registers, credit card terminals, and gas pump consoles.
  • Effective written communication skills for completing routine forms and records.
  • Strong oral communication skills for exchanging information with colleagues, customers, and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others and complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, memos, and procedural manuals.
