Position Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
The Continuous Improvement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency and effectiveness within manufacturing operations. This position is accountable for executing continuous improvement initiatives as outlined by the Continuous Improvement Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and facilitate kaizen teams aimed at enhancing lean manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with leadership to spearhead kaizen events across the facility.
- Work alongside quality assurance to uphold standards through lean methodologies, including error-proofing techniques.
- Assist the manager in overseeing the training schedule for the Cabinetworks Group Operating System (COS) to ensure all personnel are adequately trained.
- Oversee the 6S program and coordinate related activities throughout the manufacturing environment.
- Ensure that standard work procedures are maintained and updated in alignment with continuous improvement efforts.
- Analyze processes utilizing lean tools and documentation to eliminate waste, implement pull production, and optimize value flow.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.
- Proven experience in participating in kaizen events.
- Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for training and development purposes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge or training in Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience in coordinating and leading kaizen events.
- Understanding of ISO standards.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
