Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive pharmacy services, including controlled substance management, chemotherapy compounding, and unit dose dispensing technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with data collection and training new employees, residents, and interns
  • Perform advanced technician services, including medication histories, advanced sterile compounding, and Tech-Check-Tech
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to resolve problems and achieve patient-specific goals
  • Contribute to department efforts to resolve drug-related problems and maximize patient care
  • Participate in workgroups, committees, and continuing education activities for technical staff
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Two years of college preferred
  • Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience applicable to the specific work setting
  • Licensed Pharmacy Tech - State Registration (LPHT) or Reg Pharmacy Intern - State Licensure (RPI)
  • Intravenous certification (ACPE) - if applicable to assigned work area within 90 days
