We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at a major hospital organization in Northern Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately performing medical laboratory tests following established laboratory policies and procedures and adhering to performance and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining clinical instruments and ensuring they are functioning properly
  • Developing new tests and instrumentation to improve laboratory efficiency
  • Providing training to other laboratory coworkers to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties
  • Participating in the overall functioning of the clinical lab, assuming leadership and member roles as part of a team on committees and projects
  • Ensuring the lab is in continuous readiness for inspection
  • Providing guidance to other lab coworkers to ensure they have the necessary support to perform their duties

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree required
  • Completion of NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science program required
  • Must be a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the National Credentialing Agency, the American Medical Technologists, or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysts

Alternatively, candidates with 1 year of clinical laboratory experience performing non-waived patient testing and required to pass a nationally-recognized certification exam (AMT or ASCP) within 5 years and 6 months from hire date may be considered. Must have visual acuity and color discrimination, and be able to lift 50 lbs.
