Job Title: Registered Nurse

Broward County is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Broward Addiction Recovery Center.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive medical and nursing care to patients, working under general supervision and independently developing work methods and sequences. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver medical and nursing care to patients, assessing and evaluating their medical, psychological, and emotional needs.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Perform physical examinations, make tentative diagnoses, and treat patients in triage.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians or other healthcare providers.
  • Direct and supervise nursing and healthcare personnel, or supervise a particular unit on one shift.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and document patient information.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric care providers to coordinate patient care, including scheduling appointments and monitoring patient progress.
  • Admit and discharge patients, assessing their medical, mental, and safety status.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing, or specialized higher-level coursework equivalent to two years of college in nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida and current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification at time of hire.
  • Valid Florida Class E Driver's License based on area of assignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Nursing or a related health science.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Nursing Specialty Certification (e.g., Psych, Chemical Dependency, Addiction Counseling, Medical Surgical, Critical Care).
  • Train the Trainer experience (e.g., Medication Observation/Assistance).
Work Environment:

The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients with diverse medical and psychological needs. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

The Registered Nurse will perform light work, involving walking or standing most of the time, and exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.

Unavoidable Hazards:

The Registered Nurse will be exposed to radiation and disease/pathogens on a routine and frequent basis.
