Key Responsibilities
The Urology division within the Department of Veteran Affairs is looking for a board-eligible or board-certified Urologist to contribute to our practice at the Gainesville Veterans Hospital. The role includes potential adjunct faculty positions at a prominent university. We are interested in candidates with comprehensive experience across various clinical and surgical urology domains.
Clinical Duties
- Outpatient Clinic: Manage a diverse range of urological conditions, including evaluations and treatment plans, with opportunities for minor procedures.
- Operating Room: Engage in a high-volume surgical environment, utilizing advanced facilities including an outpatient surgery center. Our robotics program is expanding, featuring a new Davinci Xi dual console robot, enabling us to perform complex surgical procedures.
- Education: Mentor and guide urology residents in an accredited training program, with the possibility of involvement in lectures and research activities.
- Research Opportunities: While participation in research is available, it is not a mandatory aspect of the role.
- On-Call Duties: Call responsibilities are shared between VA and university faculty, typically organized in weekly increments, averaging one call period every 8-10 weeks.
- Supervision: Oversee the work of mid-level providers, ensuring quality care and adherence to protocols.
This position offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
