Job Summary:

The Carol Milgard Breast Center is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a breast imaging specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide patient care in accordance with the mission statement of TRA.
  2. Rotate shifts and work place as needed.
  3. Prepare patients for mammography exams with thorough explanations of the procedures and clear instructions.
  4. Obtain a thorough patient history as it relates to the exam to be completed.
  5. Accurately implement the orders of the referring physician, producing mammograms with minimum patient exposure and repeatability.
  6. Maintain high standards regarding the accurate recording of patient information.
  7. Present high-quality radiographs and pertinent patient history to radiologists for interpretation.
  8. Utilize accurate written and oral communications with patients, physicians, co-workers, and supervisors.
  9. Perform necessary computer functions associated with patient exams (RIS, MRS, Replica, and PACS).
  10. Keep work areas and patient exam areas neat and stocked with appropriate supplies.
  11. Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and in-service training for personnel.
  12. Maintain a professional demeanor with confidentiality.
  13. Be prompt and efficient with minimal absences.
  14. Cooperate and maintain good rapport with co-workers to ensure proper patient care and efficient workflow.
  15. Provide accurate information to key customers.
  16. Check work email daily.
  17. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT (R) Registry required.
  • ARRT (M) Registered or (M) Registry eligible.
  • Must have valid Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Physical Requirements:

Work is classified as moderate in physical requirements. Must be able to assist in supporting patients of varying weight. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Also requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment as necessary.

Mental Requirements:

Work requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle mentally stressful situations. The ability to maintain a high level of sensitivity towards confidential information is also required.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions. There may be exposure to communicable diseases. There will be limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
