Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Enlivant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality meals are prepared and presented to our residents. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards, while also providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, modify, and develop menus and prepare meals from standardized and local recipes
  • Ensure correct preparation, portioning, and serving in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Coordinate and prepare all meals for the community and events
  • Oversee all kitchen management, including food ordering, receiving, and inventory, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards, ensuring all work/storage areas are clean, safe, free of hazards, and properly arranged
  • Manage resident food preferences by capturing feedback through table visits and menu chats/food committee meetings
  • Ensure compliance with Enlivant, state, local, and regulatory food service standards
  • Manage and provide training for all kitchen staff
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Current ServSafe Manager's Certificate or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment
  • Written and oral English communication skills
  • Meet, have, or be eligible to obtain all applicable state requirements and certifications
  • Care about serving seniors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn new applications
  • One to three years' hospitality and supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for business use
  • Experience interacting with individuals diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's disease
