Main Responsibilities

As a HSE Technician with Gulf Island Fabrication, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment on offshore jobsites. This includes monitoring daily safety assessments, participating in safety meetings, and conducting incident learnings.

Key Functions
  • Conduct daily safety assessments to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and JSEA discussions to promote active employee participation.
  • Conduct incident learnings and prepare reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit various reports, including time tickets, work orders, and safety reports.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in offshore safety in the oil and gas construction/fabrication industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of the fabrication of Oil and Gas related projects and Heavy Equipment usage.
  • Microsoft suite proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) skills.
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule, including weekends and nights.
  • Own transportation to respond to incidents.
  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
