Responsibilities

As a modern data warehouse and AI architect, you will:

  • Work with clients to identify platform options, tradeoffs, costs, and determine the ideal platform for their needs.
  • Create technical designs and architectural solutions for modern data warehouse and AI projects.
  • Define and communicate requirements for IT and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other architects and developers to ensure alignment and integration of solutions.
  • Mentor and help more junior team members to grow their skills and capabilities.
  • Get your hands dirty with cloud-based solutions using various tools and technologies.
  • Ensure quality and performance of solutions through testing and optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern technologies and practices and apply them to solve business problems.

Requirements

To be a successful modern data warehouse and AI architect, you need:

  • 8+ years of data/business intelligence experience, preferably in cloud-based environments.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice patterns and architectures for modern data warehouse and AI solutions.
  • Expertise in Databricks on Azure, FiveTran for data ingestion, and DBT for data transformation and modeling.
  • Strong understanding of the vendors and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices for data-intensive applications.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and backend development.
  • Understanding of modern architecture and dev practices, such as microservices, serverless, CI/CD, etc.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Require candidates located in Houston, Texas.

Desired Skills

It would be awesome if you also have:

  • Experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud and their data and AI services, such as Azure Fabric, Azure Event Hub, Azure IoT Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, Google Dataflow, Google PubSub, etc.
  • Expertise with Bigdata including Spark and Delta Lake.
  • Experience with real-time analytics and streaming data solutions.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Beam or similar tools for real-time data streaming and processing.
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in C#, Python, or both.
  • Experience with DocumentDB, JSON, or similar data formats.
