Position Overview:
The role involves overseeing and coordinating all facets of construction initiatives, which includes implementing strategies, organizing resources, budgeting, and financial reporting.

This position ensures that each project's objectives are met within the designated timeline and budget while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate project proposals to establish timelines, methodologies, staffing needs, and resource allocation for various project phases.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to create work plans and staffing arrangements for each project stage.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations throughout project activities.
  • Confirm estimates through a thorough analysis of proposal specifications.
  • Lead meetings with project teams and management to relay information pertinent to project requirements.
  • Oversee project operations to guarantee execution aligns with designs, budgets, and schedules; implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during project implementation.
  • Monitor the effective use of materials and equipment, as well as contractual performance; engage with project teams to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled as expected.
  • Manage the financial components of contracts.
  • Direct and coordinate onsite activities, providing daily guidance to onsite personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, productivity, and safety benchmarks.
  • Offer technical support and recommendations.
  • Supervise safety initiatives.
  • Analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Interpret contract documents relevant to specific project divisions.
  • Request pricing information from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Assess and review bids from subcontractors for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare precise quantity surveys and take-offs.
  • Review estimate files to gather insights for current bids.
  • Compile spreadsheets and coordinate with estimating teams for bid preparation.
  • Represent the organization in project discussions.
  • Assist in drafting reports and updates for management, clients, and project teams to ensure clarity on project status.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Manage financial tracking systems to oversee project costs and estimates.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degrees are advantageous (extensive experience in military, railroad, or construction sectors may substitute for formal education).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and/or estimation, with a solid understanding of construction industry practices and their implications on project execution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic project accounting, project controls (cost, schedule, change management), material management, contract management, subcontractor management, safety, and quality assurance.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of motivating teams.
  • History of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly works outdoors at construction sites and occasionally indoors.
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches in construction environments.
  • Engages in sitting, reading, writing, and keyboard usage.
  • May encounter extreme weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels.
