About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Washington University in St. Louis. This role will involve providing high-quality patient care, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a Master of Science in Nursing degree and be certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). They will also possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including obtaining patient history, performing physical assessments, ordering diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Manage patient conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers.
  • Counsel patients and their families/caregivers on preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
Requirements
  • M.S.N. - Master Of Science In Nursing - Nurse Practitioner
  • Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) certification from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minor procedural skills (i.e., suturing, abscess drainage, basic splinting)
  • Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medicine
  • 3 or more years of practicing in an emergency department setting
Salary and Benefits

Base salary: $120,000 per year. Additionally, a stipend may be available for those with experience working in emergency medicine. We also offer a competitive benefits package, including up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time, as well as a defined contribution retirement plan and tuition assistance.
