Job Description

At energyGuard, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the way rental properties manage their energy consumption through our innovative HVAC energy management systems. Our eStat smart thermostat and energy management solutions help property owners reduce energy waste, lower costs, and enhance tenant comfort and control.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and optimization of our products. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering, product design, and HVAC systems, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in circuit design, simulation, and testing, with expertise in electronic board design and product development. Proficiency in software tools such as SPICE, Altium Designer, and MATLAB is also essential. Additionally, experience working with firmware and application development teams, as well as knowledge of regulatory compliance (UL, CSA, CE), is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new product concepts that prioritize usability, performance, and innovation.
  • Design, simulate, and analyze circuits to optimize product performance and functionality.
  • Implement testing protocols to validate product reliability and functionality.
  • Collaborate with design teams to solve technical and user-experience challenges and define solutions that meet functional requirements while enhancing the user experience.
  • Work closely with software engineering teams to improve the delivery of firmware and applications roadmaps.
  • Manage projects, create detailed specifications, and document new designs to ensure clarity, consistency, and deliverability.
  • Provide support for manufacturing tests, calibration, and system debugging.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and product development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE, Physics, or related field).
  • Proficiency in circuit design and simulation software (e.g., SPICE, Altium Designer, MATLAB).
  • Proven ability to independently design and develop high-quality electronic boards and products.
  • Strong experience working with software teams in support of firmware and application development.
  • Experience with the design of products for regulatory compliance (UL, CSA, CE, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a user-centered product design ethic.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a track record of sound judgment and technical evaluation.


Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
