Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral is seeking a motivated and compassionate certified veterinary technician to join our ER department. As a member of our team, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive environment that prioritizes patient care and employee wellbeing.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $30-$35 per hour (based on experience) + $5 differential between 10p-6a, with a starting salary of at least $32.50 per hour for experienced candidates. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, vision and dental insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and PTO.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Triage and assessment of cases - including alerting DVM of patients in critical conditions
  • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
  • Provide support and education to pet owners
  • Maintain accurate medical records
Requirements
  • Valid certification as a veterinary technician in the state of Oregon (CVT)
  • Prior experience in an emergency veterinary hospital preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
  • Confident in life-saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, and urinary deobstruction
  • Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills, advanced catheter and sampling line placement skills preferred
  • Assisting and monitoring of surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients. Additional anesthesia training provided.
