We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Associate to join our Pediatric Gastro Clinic team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients, ensuring seamless care coordination between clinical research, physicians, and patients.
- Partner with physicians to provide patient care, including conducting patient examinations, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic procedures.
- Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions, using a patient-centered approach.
- Communicate with clinic coordinators to schedule follow-up appointments, ancillary testing, and pre-operative procedures.
- Assist with patient admissions, coordinate ordering of tests and procedures, and maintain office file notes and charts.
- Support research programs by screening patients for clinical research and outcome programs, and maintaining data for sectional demographic databases.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of two years' experience working as an RN in a community health setting.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
