Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Shipyard Laborer to join our team at Waterfront Services. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an employee-owned company, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will perform general labor work to support marine and shipyard operations. This includes tasks such as climbing onto barges, opening and closing barge lids, and walking on narrow walkways. The role requires effective eye-hand coordination, physical stamina, and good balance and coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Climb onto barges and perform various tasks
  • Operate arc welders and cutting torches safely
  • Lift and carry steel pieces and fittings weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Use hand tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a similar role or industry preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work at heights
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks
